Job Overview
Executive Recruitment Asia is working with a globally recognised Online Media business to find them a passionate, driven, and experienced IT professional to join their team in Japan as a Developer. The IT department is responsible for supporting the business in becoming the World’s number one lead generation company through advanced technology-based products and handling the proper development and display of all of the business’ unique content The Developer is totally responsible and instrumental in creating your team’s technical advanced products. The role is incredibly varied, from working on web server content management systems, bespoke microservice architecture, database design, internet analysis tools, and complex integration interfaces with internal data systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example to promote a dynamic, agile, and engaged culture of owning issues/tasks.
- Innovation and embracing failure are a vital part of the product development process.
- Develop new products that are evolving into a fully integrated system where every function is connected, sharing and using data seamlessly.
- To be a subject matter expert for products owned.
- Work closely with other Developers to verify functionality and use of systems.
- Write tests and documentation and perform code reviews.
- Aid in the training of other team members.
- Deploy code to live environments.
- Be responsible end-to-end for the Core systems as a product.
- Any other duties as required.
Requirements
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript/React.
- Excellent command and experience using PHP
- WordPress including Gutenberg development
- Solid knowledge of GitHub
- Web service development experience
- Strong experience in web development together with experience with server-side and client-side
- Application development
- Solid knowledge of RestAPI architecture
- Ability to write SQL queries
- Experience Jenkins is a plus
- DevOps experience is a plus
- Great time-management skills and the ability to work to deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks
- Conversational fluency in Japanese and English is highly regarded
