ERA is excited to be partnering with an evolving and growing fintech enterprise, located in Lisbon, Portugal. Dedicated to reshaping the financial sector with forward-thinking technological solutions. Their expertise lies in offering advanced core banking and wallet platforms to facilitate smooth B2B and B2C transactions, robust payment gateways, and innovative open banking initiatives. In the capacity of Chief Technology Officer, you will assume responsibility for overseeing all facets of the technology strategy and execution. Your pivotal role will involve shaping the future of products and services, driving innovation, and ensuring that the technology infrastructure aligns with business objectives. Your primary focus will be to leading the development and implementation of core banking and wallet solutions for both B2B and B2C customers, as well as advancing payments gateway capabilities and spearheading open banking initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Technology Strategy: Formulate and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the company business goals and objectives within the payments landscape. Identify opportunities for technological innovation and differentiation in the market.
- Product Development: Lead the development and enhancement of core banking and wallet platforms tailored for B2B and B2C usage, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. Collaborate closely with product management and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions meeting customer requirements.
- Payments Gateway: Drive the evolution of the payments gateway infrastructure, optimising transaction processing, enhancing security protocols, and integrating with new payment methods and networks. Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements in the payments sector.
- Open Banking: Advocate for open banking initiatives, collaborating with external partners, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to establish API frameworks, data sharing protocols, and customer authentication mechanisms. Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation to leverage open banking opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Establish and lead a high-performing technology team, offering mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities. Cultivate a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Technology Partnerships: Identify and nurture strategic partnerships with technology vendors, fintech startups, and industry organisations to accelerate innovation and enhance technological capabilities within the payments domain.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: Demonstrable leadership experience in technology roles within the payments or related industries. Prior involvement in developing and scaling core banking, wallet, and payments solutions is highly desirable. Experience with open banking initiatives and regulatory compliance is advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Profound expertise in software development methodologies, cloud technologies, microservices architecture, API design, and cybersecurity best practices. Familiarity with blockchain, machine learning, and other emerging technologies is advantageous.
- Leadership Abilities: Strong leadership and management skills, with the capacity to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive consensus in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strategic Vision: A strategic thinker with a clear vision for the future of fintech within the payments industry and the role of technology in driving business innovation and growth. Ability to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and initiatives.
