Job Overview
Our client is a dynamic and innovative firm based in Brisbane. With a broad portfolio encompassing the technology and property sectors, their specific emphasis lies within iGaming. They offer a collaborative working environment, prioritising communication across continents, and are situated in a state-of-the-art, bespoke office space. They are currently in search of a highly motivated and detail-oriented In-House Accountant to take a pivotal role within their finance department.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and uphold financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure accurate financial transactions by maintaining the general ledger.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, encompassing invoicing and collections.
- Support tax return preparations, ensuring compliance and optimising tax strategies.
- Implement tax optimisation strategies, manage reshoring income, and handle trust distributions.
- Conduct financial data analysis to pinpoint trends and areas for improvement.
- Support both internal and external audit processes, ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manage payroll activities, adhering to tax laws and regulations.
- Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure robust internal controls.
- Identify potential financial risks and devise strategies to mitigate them.
- Communicate financial data effectively to internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Recognised accounting qualifications such as CPA, CAANZ, IPA, or ACCA.
- Demonstrable experience with Australian entities and foreign companies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian Tax Resident foreign entities and trust distributions.
- Proficiency in Xero software and complex journaling.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, Slack, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Suite.
- Knowledge of cryptocurrency.
