Job Overview
ERA is excited to be partnering with an experienced tech-savvy gaming business armed with more than 10+ years of expertise in the online gaming industry, their main goal is to continuously deliver a highly dynamic and entertaining experience in the online gaming world. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining the stability and performance of our MySQL, MongoDB, and other database systems. You will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and improving maintenance strategies to ensure seamless database operations. Your expertise in database architecture, cloud database management, and SQL optimisation will be instrumental in enhancing our overall data management processes.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance daily maintenance plans for MySQL, MongoDB, and other databases to ensure uninterrupted database functionality.
- Monitor the performance of MySQL, MongoDB, and other databases, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks by implementing effective optimisation strategies.
- Devise and implement robust backup and recovery strategies for MySQL, MongoDB, and other databases on a daily basis.
- Offer technical support to our development team, assisting in SQL optimisation, setting up test environments, and facilitating the deployment of online environments.
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in database modelling and object design, with the ability to draft comprehensive technical documentation.
- Expertise in database architecture, particularly MySQL and MongoDB, along with a deep understanding of database operational mechanisms.
- Proficiency in building and maintaining cloud databases, particularly on platforms such as AWS.
- Advanced skills in SQL development, capable of analysing and optimising complex SQL statements, with the ability to swiftly troubleshoot database issues.
- Strong command of basic Linux operations and experience in shell or Perl programming.
- Preference is given to candidates with relevant industry experience, especially in batch operation, maintenance, and management of databases like MySQL and MongoDB.
- Excellent communication skills, a passion for learning, and a resilient nature to withstand and thrive in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.
